In addition to filmmaking, Barbara learned how stories can help bring meaning to our lives during times of cultural change.

Barbara always loved magic and fantasy worlds. J.R.R. Tolkien and Charles Dickens strongly influenced her. She’s traveled extensively, inspired by old castles, ancient ruins, history, and legends. 

The many hours she spent reading to her three daughters inspired her to write fantasy novels. Reading together was an excellent way to unwind that they looked forward to, and it strengthened their relationships.
